Hey Jeff,

        I have the same problem with my blower. 
* During a cool summer night around 2am I was driving home half asleep
when I almost shit my pants when the fan started grinding. It was so
loud! I thaught my car was going to blow up.

        Unlike you I'm going to deal with it because I dont have the
money or
the time to rip everything apart. ( I belive its a big job to do) 
- I'm just going to use setting #1.
