You are old, me too. :)

LAN = Local Area Network.
LAN Party = Net in house + lots of computers hooked up, no lag like out
over the internet. Hopefully all 100baseT or better and (switched?)
Cisco or equiv.. equipment.
ID = ID software, makers of Doom/Quake, etc.
UT = (a game I don't play, ;] )
SoF = Soldier of Fortune
