RE:  mag test times for 16V.  Don't think they had 50 mm intake 
manifolds.  If you plug the 1/4 mile times into math formulas, it agrees 
with 125 HP well.  But, there is a reason C&D now quotes a street time.  
They get the 0-60 times by dropping the throttle, no-lift shifting, and 
adjusting the times to standards (ie temp/sea-level?)
Oh yeah, the cars were 12-14 years younger.  I know I'm not getting 
faster as I'm getting older....Fatter, yes.


RE: OEM MKI tires:

Conti TS-771 in 175/70-SR-13s.  FWIW, I had two of them die by starting 
to have tread separations.  PIA cause it happened on two occasions when I 
was trying to get somewhere fast and it was on the front, of course.
