16V problems (non-roc)

my 90 GLI is giving me some stupid niggling little running problems that I
do not know how to address and I was hoping some of y'all could help me,
even though it is a jetta. Car is stock 9A engine. problems are
1) Oscillating RPM at Idle- occaisionally does not do this, usually does,
will do a 100rpm rise/drop thing constantly, does it cold or warm, with or
without the idle regualtor plugged up. very annoying.
2) Will cut off when coming to a stop- not a frequent problem, but annoying
when trying to cross an intersection
3) Sometimes, on acceleration, the car will buck and try to cut out like it
has lost all ignition fire. this is a rare symptom but very unnerving when
it does do it.- it is so severe when it happens that I am worried that it
may break a motor mount.
