Because it came right after the DASHER, the 1st watercooled car (whoops,
not a correct statement. Pls. make allowances), predating both the
Scirocco (2nd), and then the Golf/ Rabbit (3rd).
btw- the SLC with a turbo or supercharger seems a good fit for the A2
based car.
