bumper inserts

can anyone tell me if the bumpers on mid-80's VWs are the same?  i need to
get two replacement insert to hold on my rear bumper.  These are the steel
pieces that bolt on in the hatch and bolt on to the bumper.

I know there arent any roc's in the local yards, so i'm wondering if i can
yank some off a jetta or something.
