Re: tranny replacement

The normal stuff...at the risk of insulting you,
here's what I do/have done:
new seals in new tranny (driveaxle flange, pushrod
shaft, etc.)...rear main seal (piece of cake at this
point)...complete shifter bushing set...new rubber
boot over the shifter arm...new seal there too...new
rear tranny mount? (My Cab was shuddering during
takeoff after a new tranny/clutch/PP etc. A poly
mount cured it but there's more vibration into
passenger compartment but it will be swapped into the
'roc sometime soon)...remove and clean wires to body
ground (near/beneath battery)...new oil pan gasket if
required...paint a white line on the timing mark on
the flywheel...new driver's side mount?...new front
mount! use the heavy duty/Techtonics one...wire-brush
all your bolts so they're nice and clean going back
together (my goal during reassembly is to always have
clean hands)...I always replace the cloth braided
vacuum line connector pieces when I have to remove an
old airbox...maybe want to replace the speedo cable
with a single-piece job and get rid of that dumb O2
sensor box...
someone is bound to add more.
Good Luck!
