Oil Pressure Guage Senders/Audi
First the good
news...I HAVE OIL PRESSURE!!! For the past 3 years my old 1.8 ran no more than 1
bar of pressure max and the idiot light was always on. 3 years folks. Now I
hooked my guages up and repaired most the damage from the thieving fuckers. It
was so amazing to see my oil pressure guage MOVE when I pressed on the gas! One
problem though.
My guages are out an
'90 Audi 90Q, they are VDO (i think nitedesign) backlit with lighted needles.
The oil pressure guage is 0-5 bar. Driving on the highway it is pegged at 5 bar
with the oil warmed, so Im assuming that my dual cabiro sender is calibrated for
a 0-10 guage and it is throwing the guage off. The temp guage is a little off
also since it is a 60-170 degree cel. Is there anything I can do to fix the oil
pressure guage? Im not sure what the right Audi sender looks like since the
donor car had been relieved of it motor. Was or IS there a 0-5 dual pressure
sender? Please help....god I love seeing that guage
pegged.....
PS for
James
All guages have
three wires except the volt guage. You have a ground (brown), Sender (blue and
white for oil pressure?, black with green stripe for oil temp) and a 12volt
line, which on my Audi guages was the black wire (stupid ehh). When you look at
the plugs on the guages they will be labeled.
Thank you for your time.
