I just broke an '82 1.6GL auto a couple of months ago - I couldn't find a 
use for it and it was worth more for parts than to sell. It was my first 
scirocco and, tho' it felt slow compared with my current ones, it wasn't 
that bad compared with other cars. And it's interesting being able to do 
70mph in 2nd!
Any UK listers out there looking for an auto 'box - I've still got the 
engine & box.
