RE: Highschool Rides.
I just had to add my .02. I'm a good 14 years out of high school. But at
my school, the parking lot was filled with rusted out, mid 70's American
iron ('64 Ford Falcon for me, the end of the leaf springs were poking
through the trunk). However, one of the nicest cars sitting in the lot was
an gray '85 Scirocco 8v driven by one of the hotties in the "in" crowd.
Seeing as it was basically new and the only German car in the land of
'Merkan Eye-run (Michigan), it caught everyone's attention. Now, many years
later, the 'Roc still catches that kind of attention (and I'll bet the girl
does not!)

Nice to hear things haven't changed much since I was
in high school (class of '93). There were nice cars
and there were the rust buckets and then there was my
'81 Scirocco.
One guy in particular thought he was hot stuff because
of his Mustang 5.0 convertable. On more than one
occasion I beat him off the line and left him in my
dust. Darn, I miss that car.
