RE: Fuel Filter

I'm not in front of my car right now, but the banjo bolts on both sides of
the filter are supposed to come off. Is the side with the ridge the inbound
side? I just replaced my filter and the inbound side was a real sumbich.
After stripping the banjo bolt, I ended up disconnecting the steel braided
fuel line at the solid fuel line, putting the fuel filter in a vice and
using a breaker bar with a cheater bar on the bolt. I destroyed the filter
and mangled the bolt in the process. Be very careful about destroying the
banjo bolts that screw into the filter. Those suckers are about $70 each
unless you get lucky at the scrap yard.

Subject: Fuel Filter

I just took off my fuel filter to see how dirty it is. My question is:
Is the one end with the little ridge supposed to come off? I tried like
hell to take it apart but couldn't. If it doesn't come off how can I
tell if I need a new filter? TIA
