Still breaking in my motor...Revved it up a bit!

Hey everyone!

First, thanks to everyone who offered advice about how to break in my newly
built 2008 cc 16V motor. I gathered pieces of information from each and
every response and figured out a schedule that I was happy with, and last
night I hit 500 miles with the motor.

I decided to change my oil at 500 miles (previously at 100, too) and after
that I would start taking it up to 5000 rpms. Well the motor is much happier
spinning up there, and it felt really strong revving up there in 2nd and 3rd
gears. It was putting out a lot of grunt and I had to upshift before I could
get the pedal to the floor! It spins up really fast, and It's hard to
beleive that I still have 2000 to 3000 rpms left to play with.

My plan has been to wait until I reach 1000 miles before I start bringing
the engine to redline, but I'm not sure I can wait that long.
