Need wheel width opinions for Mk1

Need the lists opinion on wheel sizes.
(experience only, no speculation or heresay please 8)   )

What do you find to be the best wheel width for the 195/50/15 tires for a
Mk1 Scirocco 15" X 7", or 15" X 6.5"?
What would be the best offset with each size?

I have decided to go with Pirelli P-Zero Asimmetrico's this time for
everyday street use, no track use.
Has anybody used these? What do you like or not like about them?
