Got the Roc Back
OUCH! Just got the roc back from having the engine and tranny resealed. If
anyone remembers the previous post about it, it got worse. So VW replaced
all of the engine seals and gaskets and tranny seals. While they had the
tranny open I decided that I should replace the original clutch assembly.
And while they had the motor apart replace the timing belt and any others
that needed replacing. Parts and 17 hours of labor came to about $2K + tax.
Well, when they opened the transmission they found that reverse had chipped
and the chip somehow screwed up the ring and pinion. Anybody know where
this is going????. Although it hadn't been causing any noticeable trouble
before there was no guarantee when they put it back together that it
wouldn't be causing trouble then. Sooooo. Overhaul the transmission.
Replace a leaky fuel line. Battery. Every belt including timing belt.
********$3,500********
Runs great. Feels great. Clutch feels weird, I was on the other one for 14
years.
Anyway, just had to vent. Can't wait to drive it to Dauns.
