MKI Scir console + aux. gauges

Kareem:

On my 78, I used stock console and added two gauges (oil pressure +
voltmeter) above the two OEM (clock + oil temp). Found aftermarket gauge
mounting piece of plastic with the two 2 1/16" holes. Some pan-head
black phillip screws attached it the stock console. I may even still
have it, although it could be easily duplicated. I believe car stero
places have ABS or other plastic blank panels you could customize.

Off topic, but if your oil blinker is coming on with the OEM pressure
sender, ensure your cooling fan is coming on. Its the first big (30? A)
fuse on left side in MKIIs.

Subject: Mk1 Center Console

Anyone know if the center console w/ the 3
VDO gauges from an early eighties Rabbit Cabby
will fit a Mk1 ? Or if just the gauge panel can
be grafted into the Mk1. Anyone out there have
3 gauges in their console as opposed to the
stock 2? I'm looking for a very OEM fit, kindof
like placing 3 gauges in-a-Mk2-using-the-aftermarket-
3-gauge-panel jobby. Thanks,

Kareem
