Points to Hall Sender.....

Anybody want to offer any suggestions as to possible nightmares I may have on 
my upcoming swap to a hall sender ignition?  The car is a 79 with a 1.6 and 
I'll be using parts from an 84 scirocco that I parted out years ago.  I'm not 
even 100% of what all I need to do..... distributor, knockbox, knock sensor, 
vacuum line, etc?  What pieces won't "plug & play" with the 79's wiring 
harness?  TIA
