THANK YOU very much Shawn for helpin' me out.   I just got back from
scouring Los Angeles lookin' for the elusive clutch cable.  I walked into a
shop in Korea town and the man told me a tall guy JUST walked in and bought
his last cable.  What, I ask y'all, are the ODDS of another Scirocco 16v
popping a clutch cable within a ten mile radius of me?!  I asked him why he
sold it because I had JUST called him and he said he had one.  He replied
that he thought the tall guy was picking it up for me.  Keee-rist!!!! :(  In
any case, I ordered another cable and it should be in by 10 am tomorrow.
$43 smackaroonies this thing cost me! =8O

Needless to say, despite my wishing to tackle this job myself [I'm the
stubborn type :)], "Nemesis" [the Roc :)] will not be fixed until tomorrow.
Triple A is coming for him first thing in the morning and I'll drop the part
off to my mechanic.  *sigh*  And this weekend was so sunny too...perfect
Scirocco cruising weather =(

I'll add Shawn's helpage info to my personal Scirocco archive.  Until
then....one more Scirocco temporarily out of the war =(
