I didn't think so either.  I know the VW Scirocco's Tornado Red is notorious
for turning "orange" after a few years.  VW supposedly improved the paint
with the new VW's, but even as I look at the newer ones, I see the problem
has a potential to resurface.  I guess the fix would be to get your car
clearcoated as soon as you purchase it (if it's new), and to get a repaint
or clear coat added for your used vehicle *shrug*
