I thought it only costs around 20 bucks in parts to retrofit, man I think you 
got hosed.  Anyway I have not converted over because I have heard it is not 
as cool so it is worth it to me to pay a little extra for the old freon.

Weird thing happened today, my A/C decided to work on the fourth speed  after 
not working for 2 years now.  Weird huh.  It was raining out, wonder if that 
had anything to do with it. I hear those gremlins running around under the 
dash, One day I'll catch'em.
