Funny you should ask.....

So far, one of the more difficult parts of this conversion (16v in a 
Rabbit convertible) has been trying to find a stoopid alternator belt 
that would fit!  I think I've gone thru *5*.

Well I got one last night that seems to be all right.  Got it 
tightened up.  The exhaust is not on tight, so it leaks like a mofo. 
My neighbor has the tools to do that right, so I....


....DROVE it across the street!

Woo hoo!

Ok, so the motor's not quite timed right, it's a shaky idle, but 
reverse and first gear worked!  YAY!
