I use Castrol 10w40 in all of my VW's.  I have always used this year round, 
but this is my first 16v that is only driven in the summer months.  My 
father is a ford v8 guy and thats what he has always used, i guess it never 
fazed me.  I guess i will be switching to 20w50 really soon!  If 20w50 is 
recommended for 16v, what about 8v?
