The 16V actually has both.  A belt that operates one camshaft, and then a 
chain on the driver's side of the engine, under the valve cover, that turns 
the other one.

The chain doesn't require maintenance or changing, which is probably why 
you've never heard of it. :)

And we would never yell at you. :)
