What kind of boat is it? My friend had a rabbit diesel and a 15.5 foot Snipe
and had no trouble. I have an other friend who can tow a Snipe with a Fox
1.8.
The motor will do it but the hills will be a bit challenging. I use my 2.0
16v Passat
with a stick to tow my Snipe. I got the hitch from New Dimensions.
It works fine. Your tong weight will make a big difference between
a comfortable ride or plowing out of control.Think about your poor springs
and how mashed they will be. I would put some stiff springs on the rear
or gas shocks if you were seriously going to tow. BTW V8 folks
usually have power boats and they will only be thinking about the
power boats at the ramp and they will not look at you at all.
Sail boaters just get the boat to water any way they can.

I am thinking of making a custom bumper mount for the Scirocco
that attaches to the bumper Then I will just change the bumper when I tow
a small trailer that I am thinking about building to put my racing tires in.
