It is not possible to lock the door when it is open, either by key or the
little pressy-downy-thingy. When the door is closed it can be locked and
unlocked freely. This is the german solution for locking your keys in your
car. The only downside is when your car was previously owned by an
uncoordinated, fidgety asshole, you end up with lots of key scratches from
people trying to put the key in the key hole to lock the door and not
being able to get it there.

The Turn Signal Pulsed Audio Control Unit, mounted next to the fuel
injection computers, monitors the status of the turn signals and uses
space-age technology to determine when to make a clicking sound and when
to be silent. The clicking sound actually comes from a mexican jumping
bean wired to an electrical stimulus and connected to the control unit.
The bean itself is mounted in a small box that plugs in to the fusebox,
and needs to be replaced as a part of regular 15,000 mile maintainance
as it does have a rather short life expectancy.
Hope this clears things up...
