Sorry for not being knowledgeable about your car Shannon, but
I was kind of wondering, do you have an entirely new/whole 2.0 or are you
running a 1.8 head with 2.0 bottom end? When you say your 2.0 doesn't have
the same pull as your old 1.8, are you talking "seat of the pants" feel or did
you have the car analyzed "before and after"? I ask because I'm sort of at
another crossroads in my engine rebuild.
My 1.8 cylinder head is just about done being rebuilt. I
didn't do anything radical....didn't have it shaved like I initially proposed,
just had it cleaned up, replaced the valves, guides, springs, and lifters, and
I'm pretty much waiting until I have enough money to get it swapped in to put on
the euro cam for the finishing touch. I haven't decided if I'll drop the
2.0 crank I have in yet [keep your heads up gang, this might be another 'freebie
giveaway" in the future--the lucky winner pays shipping this time :)] of if
I'll just go with a nice set of first overbore/rebuild set of OEM pistons.
I hear the forged ones tend to expand? Anyway....I'm not expecting
gobs of speed, but I am looking forward to "zippiness." You DO have
zippiness, don't you? :) In any case, for the Scirocco "who has
what" challenged (me), please enlighten us/me on exactly what you have in
