Lousy explanation on my part in the original message..

My *total budget" is not to exceed $5k.  This will include all the parts
I'm going to replace, which will easily hit between $1500-$2500.  I don't
even have a dollar estimate to do the paint/bodywork yet, that will likely
come tomorrow.  Thanks to a lot of input I've already received, some of
it offline, it looks like the body kit will definitely be getting done
off the car.. thanks to everyone who's been responding.

As for the rattle can job - N8 in Sacramento did a helluva job on his 8v 
using this method!
