Re: Speedo cable chattering in cold
The 89 Scala I had in Germany did it. It would start out as a chatter
and get louder and louder as speed increased until it was screeching
then would stop making noise at about 45 mph. Getting stuck in 40 mph
traffic sucked. :-) My current 88 16V did it last year, but hasn't
done it yet this year.
Don't bother changing the speedo cable. It's in the inner workings of
the speedometer itself. I changed the cable on the 89 and had the same
results.
