I talked to Raffi at Eurosport the other day and he said that the 1.8T and 
1.8 20V blocks are the same externally, but, they have a couple of extra or 
different oil galleys.  So, you wouldn't really be able to bolt a 1.8T head 
on your old block.  It would be best to get the whole thing.  The good news 
is that all the mounting bosses and transmission mounting holes are the same!
