I have seen this a lot on the list lately and would like to give you all 
heads up. A gutted cat Will NOT cause you to fail emission sniffer tests, i 
repeat will not.  A properly running 16v with gutted cat will pass, with 
flying colors, have done so for four years now.  Unless different states 
sniff for different things that I do not know.  Bad 02 sensor, improper fuel 
mixture, improper idle will fail ya. later
