A muffler shop should be able to cut off your cat and weld in an aftermarket
hi-flow cat for less than $150. The TT downpipe/cat is now $325. I guess
you get a little more performance out of this, but if your flex coupling in
the downpipe is not broken, you don't need to spend the extra $ to replace
the downpipe.

Well, my gutted cat flunked georgia emissions. It seems to be an unusual
converter, one end is kinda squished... will a regular muffler shop be
able to weld a replacement in, or am I gonna have to shell out big bucks
for something VW specific? Anyone have a used downpipe/cat for sale?
