inserts,sheath's or what ever..

I want to thank all for your help. you have restored my faith in VW people.
	I got the inserts for the cylander head, but want to know what I face
removing them. Should I soak the area in WD40 first to loosen the rust etc.
prior to turning them out? I don't want little pieces in the engine.
	I got a compression tester this week I am going to learn how to do that
tomorrow as well.... (My Brain Hurts!)
