Fw: Ditching the Heater core

SAL,
It worked for me.
I was running the JH motor in my 81 Scirocco and when I stripped the
interior I left only the two front seats and gutted upper dash section.
Everything else was taken out, I even cut out the rear hatch tray wings.
The instument cluster panel was replaced with a custom plastic
piece with large Porsche 924 Tach and assorted needed VDO guages,
yes including a fuel guage I picked up at a swap meet. The speedo
would have just taken up valuable space, so it was left out.

In the engine bay you need to find where the two hoses that
go through the firewall connect and replace with a hose that
is U shaped. I don't remember what car I got it off of, import I
think, but I found it after searching the Pick-n-pull. Let me know
if you can't find one and I will send you mine being that that motor
is now out of the car for my 2.0 16V conversion.

I would guess that you are loosing a little bit of cooling ability
now that you have one less radiator but I never had any
problems with overheating, I was also running an air/oil cooler
which may have helped.
