blower fan

How does one get the fresh air blower fan out.  I got to it through the rain 
try per Bently, lifted it up and out, but the wiring from the series 
resistor is holding it down.  The bently says unhood the wiring, but there 
is nowhere to do this.  The wires are soldered to the resistor and motor, 
and the whole harness goes way into to car.  Am I missing something here???  
Help, I want heat!!!!!
