windshield installation

How hard is it to remove and replace a windshield?  Looking at buying a car 
with a cracked windshield, and can replace it with the windshield from my 
wrecked car in the garage.  Is this really hard, or worth trying?  Do I need 
any parts or tools?

Hopefully someone can give me detailed instructions on how to do this...
