I got ss ss ssssssss STEAM HEAT!

So my 86 8v is steaming coolant from behind the firewall. I'm not getting
any vapor through the interior vents so I am hoping it is just the hose. Are
they changeable with a modicum of grief, any insights from the group? Can I
do it from the engine compartment or do I need to stick my big fat head
under the dashboard again? I hope I can get some advice before tomorrow
