Nope, your coil sounds fine.  Your distributor is toast.  Technically, it's 
the Hall sender, but you still have to replace the whole thing.  Buy a new 
one and you will have no trouble for many years.  If you try to rebuild the 
distributor, you will be messing with it again in 6 months max.  A new 
distro is ~$200 from a list vendor (Mike or Mark).
