Dont have a 16v, but i had my 79 with a built 1.8 up to 130+ racing a 280z..
my speedo only goes to 110 so when we stopped i asked him how fast we were
going and he said we hit 130 a couple times, he was amazed at how fast a vw
can be, he was giving me shit all day saying he could waste me.
