Kevin,

I'm gonna guess the main reason for your ripples (tight fitting) is
because your car was repainted.  Do you know if the body shop stripped
down the roof to bare metal (or primer)?  Because if they just shot over
the existing tornado red, the amount of one new paint layer could likely
have narrowed the channel enough to cause the new mouldings to NOT fit
perfectly.
