[non-roc] passat waterpump q's

hey there-

my friend has a 90 passat with a bad waterpump. the car has a little less
than 100k on it and hasn't seen much maintenance work. is there any other
work that he should have done when he has the waterpump replaced? how
difficult is the waterpump to replace?
