It's just good to know. Ya know?

Some may know, some may not know that my mother has been diagnosed with
breast cancer and had a Mastectomy and reconstructive surgery done a few
weeks ago. She has been out of the hospital for a week when she developed
what turned out to be a blood clot in the lung so they induced a chemical
coma and put her on a respirator until the blood thinners could do its
job and she can breathe on her own. 

Sunday morning I got a phone call at 6:am from the hospital saying:
"Mr. Meze, you should get to the hospital as soon as you can because we
believe that your mother might not make it". 

Scared that I might not get to see my mother alive again I jump in the
Scirocco and haul ass to the hospital. I drove 28 miles in 10 minutes.
5th gear well past redline the whole way and the car never missed a beat.
I simply ran out of 5th gear. I thought for sure id hurt something but
screw it, its just a car, ill fix whatever it is I break. Nothing will
stop me from getting to the hospital. Sometimes in life you just have
these "above all else" emergencies and it was just good to know that I
could rely on my car to get me there as fast as it did. Luckily there was
only myself and one other car on the freeway which made the trip much
easier. 

Even luckier than that, the doctors were wrong and she improved thru the
morning. The outlook now is that she will be on the ventilator for 4 days
minimum. Im happy with that. 

I know many of you have well wishings for my mom.  I'll just beat you to
the punch and say it here in advance "thank you" so you don't have to
reply. I know you guys mean well. 

I just felt the need to mention the awesome feat done for me from my 82
Roc. it really is a great car. 

So, no sympathy needed because she --->WILL get better! :)
