Re: update: sticky fuel distributor plunger?



Why don't you pull an injector and see if it's squirting
at startup. BUT you'll have to plug the hole left by the injector!
On an 8v that "hole" wouldn't cause a significant enough vacuum
leak, but on a 16v with the long intake runner, you don't get
enough vacuum to raise the plate, fooling you into thinking the
fuel distributor control plunger is jammed. Been there before.
It's prob. not the distributor, they are usually the last
thing to worry about.
