All seals should 'ride' in different locations or the spring should be
tightened. The reason for this is, and I'll use the rear main as an
example, the seal can wear a slight grove where it comes in contact with
the crank. By slightly changing the depth of the seal, you keep it out of
any grove that may have formed. That means you have less of a chance of
an oil leak.

For a mere $500.00 more, I have ALL of the components INCLUDING an AGB
transmission (that is in perfect working order) to swap an A-1 over to a
16v! That includes TWO blocks. Tell your friends!
