 Okay here's my $0.02...

On my old Cabrio, I had magnesium wheels. Lighter than aluminum, just as
strong, but they sure were a biotch to keep clean!  I whacked a pothole one
day with one and I thought for sure it would have bent... an aluminum wheel
would have, but it didn't!
