Re: Polyurethane motor mounts ..Q?

First and foremost, you need to figure out what kind of driver you are.
If you like to get it on all the time, you will need to make a bigger
investment that just the mounts. I recommend the front poly mount for any
type of driver. You will never need to replace it again. I've had mine
for 5 years now and it's outlasted two 16v trannies. I wouldn't use the
inserts (side mounts) if you want anything resembling a smooth ride
without first balancing you engine. The passenger side mount is the one
that makes the steering wheel dance when it goes bad or the poly insert
is installed. The rear poly mount is a touchy subject. If it's over
torqued, it'll break. If you 'grab' gears hard, it'll break. After
breaking four, I gave up on them. Don't waste you time getting DIESEL
mounts, they are the same as the mounts you have now. Listers that don't
agree can cross the #'s before jumping my ass. I checked with 3 sources.

I have a balanced 2.0ltr and run the front poly and the poly side inserts
with the solid aluminum rear. This is not for everyone, but I love it. It
doesn't "rattle my teeth out" but there is a noticeable increase in
vibration. (my third brake light drives me crazy at times)

You can mail order the mounts or probably get them from someone on the
list. Again, you need to determine how you like to drive and what you can
put up with in a daily driver.

I hope this does more to help than it does to confuse.
