Re: Too Much $$$$ - musings a week before payday

Funny - that is the exact same rationale I use every
time I start to get irritated. What makes it worse is
that I have 2 VW's, so one is up on blocks while the
other is running.... just restored the gas tank on my
vanagon last week (all new gaskets, hoses, filters,
etc) which of course led to a K&N in the van, new
plugs, some new temp sensors, new carpet, new
windsheild wipers, fixing the short in the stereo....
and now it is time to start on the rocco. And of
course as soon as I start pulling the front end apart
I will decide that maybe I should fix the minor oil
pan gasket leak, and maybe that cylinder head leak..
see where this is leading? I'll be rebuilding the
engine before the summer is out. Then I might as well
do the exhaust while I am at it...

I need to start a personal fund and save that $50 I
would be blowing on labor for new parts... or maybe a
small house with a big barn to keep all my broke-ass
VW's in :)

sorry to rant - it's been a long night.... working
Sunday afternoons when it is absolutely gorgeous out
bites... hehehe - never had to worry about that when
I was living in Houston. only 3 gorgeous days a year
;)
