Luckily, I was able to buy my '82 for dirt cheap ($250) from the the
mechanic of the guy I bought my first one from. Over the past month or two
I've spent only about $400-500, though that isn't saying all that much since
it's not even on the road yet. It actually worked out beautifully: I bought
my first rocco last september. About one hour after I got it through
registration, on my way home, some jerk wasn't paying attention and plowed
into the back of me, totaling the car. ( incidentally, the guy pushed me
right into the back of a brand new porsche carerra, hehe) The insurance
company payed for the original price of the car and just recently I received
a sizable settlement for my injuries. So, in the end I actually got a car
for free along with a full parts car and money to spend. Sometimes you get
dropped in a big pile of shit and come out smelling like a rose...
