MKI front corner markers

Does anyone know if the US spec front corner markers ('78-'81) are different 
from Euro spec to US spec? When I got the Euro grille setup for my wifes 
Jetta 1 I noticed that the corner markers for her car were more rounded and 
required bigger bulbs and didnt have the stupid reflector texture inside it. 
Anyone..... Anyone?
