1. Yes it is. :)
2. 84 is Mark Two, any from 81 or before are Mk1.
3. 84 _should_ be an 1.8 liter, not sure if it's the same engine
the GTI from the same year has or not.
4. the Potterman at <http://www.parts4vws.com> 
5. How to call Germany?, for parts? Ask here 1st, some of my best
friends are in Germany. :P
