Nuespeed from a buisness standpoint
OK from my stand point Neuspeed is a somewhat smart company. They are
smart in the fact that they branched out to other brands. Thats how my
current shop got me to work for them. They used to be strictly Jeep and
offroading. Thne one day my boss got the road racing bug and a rabbit showed
up. Then a younger employee got a corrado to be diffrent from the rest of the
race boys on the street. We all know how it goes after that. Now we are
building turbo VR6's and dual throttle body motors for racing. Fun stuff.
Now unlike Neuspeed we still do our original stuff, jeeps. We keep prices
low and competitive as well. Now since I carry ABD, Autotech, Eurosport,
Neuspeed and almost everyother brand that makes anything for VW's I have one
thing to say about Neuspeed. They have lost there touch. They are anywhere
from 30 to 80 more expensive on suspension parts. 20 to 30 on electrical and
lighting oh and sometimes hundreds more expensive for exhaust. Don't even get
me started on that piece of junk they call an intake. Yes, I know they
finally revamped it and its still over price piece of junk.
As for quality! Please. Eurosport has they same quality and in many cases
better quality then Neuspeed and for much less. Right now I can't even give
away Neuspeed products cause my cliental is finally become educated enough to
notice things like. The Beru name on the Neuspeed wires and the same name on
the Eurosport wire, which is much less. Thank good for little things like
that that finally are tipping them off.
Now you say they are forgetting the VW market. Yes, and no. When I was at
SEMA I went to there booth as always and well there was almost no VW products
there. Oh and no VW at the booth. But they had a nice little parts hanger
s2000 Honda. I think thats what its called. Man the little convertible is
sweet! Yes, I said it. That Honda cabby is so damn nice. Only a turbo VR6
cabby would sway me away from that thing. OK back to topic. Now you look at
there new catalog and VW is all over. Yes, they do other vehicles and thats
smart. Good for them.
Now the bad part is Me as a dealer can't stand them anymore. They are
rude on the phone, its impossible to get any good tech or find out what
materials are used for there product. Hell if you ever tried to get a spring
rate from them its like pulling teeth. They have grown to much and there
employees don't care or just don't really know what they are talking about.
then there dealer program is awful for the same price I sell some other
companies parts that has just as good quality and in many cases better is
what neuspeeds horrible W/D program sells it to me for.
Now I know this sounds shitty but hey I have to make a profit. I have
bills and a mouth to feed. I get s piece in for lets say 80 after shipping is
involved. Then Neuspeed sells it for 95.99. Kids see this and demand that
price, they see that price in the neuspeed direct ad. They don't take into
account that they would have had to pay 15 dollars more for shipping and COD
fee's if they were lucky. Now Neuspeed doesn't mind selling at that price
cause hey they probably paid 20 to 30 bucks to have it made in bulk. They
make a huge mark up either way. Now us shops trying to sell there stuff get
fucked.
Oh yes my point for this rant. Neuspeed hasn't forgotten the VW
comminute. They know they are there. They haven't forgotten the Honda crowd
either. They forgotten the Auto enthusiast period. They forgot the small
shops trying to sell there product. They forgot the racers. They have turned
into a corporate machine. They forgot that the little people are the ones who
use there parts and support them. They think we are uneducated kids that will
take there products and smile. In many many many cases its true. Its sad.
Thats why I stopped using most of there product and moved onto other
companies who make the same and better products for less.
Neuspeed will always be there though, who knows maybe they'll go back to a
real grass roots level or maybe they will get smart and hire more people so
it can be more of a one on one kind of business again. Hell when was the last
time a customer called up Neuspeed and got to talk to the owner, Or the
person who designed the product?
OK I need to wake up and get food later.
I think I confused myself
