RE: Shelby Dodge Lancer, oh my!

All I know is that I got my ass handed to me by one this weekend at the
AutoX. I'm not sure how many "Mk"s they had, but this was the 80's/early
90's one. They have a lot more horsepower than a 16v, but they weigh more
than a dump truck. This weekend's track was waaay fast, since it was put
on by the local Corvette club. I was actually deep into 3rd gear down one
straight, which I've never done on an AutoX before...probably in the
neighborhood of 60mph, though I didn't ever have time to look. I believe
he said he has a straight-six with somewhere over 200hp. There are also
turbo-charged versions of this engine, which are obviously even faster. He
said the thing weighed somewhere over 3500lbs tho!

I have beat that guy on tight, twisty courses, but don't take a Supra on
for a straight-line contest. You will loose. And that's just the old ones.
The new ones are one notch below exotics! If I had the money, I wouldn't
get a Supra, but I do have a lot of respect for them. They're nice cars.
